A special treat awaited some lucky guests at Disney California Adventure Park as they geared up for a ride on the Soarin’ Over California attraction: actor Patrick Warburton showed up unexpectedly.
Warburton has been part of the attraction since its debut in 2001, dishing out "important safety tips" to passengers as they wait in line to embark on their flight over California's famous landscapes.
During the limited run of Soarin’ Over California for the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival until April 22, instead of the usual safety tips appearing on screen, Warburton himself delivered them live. He decided to personally conduct the final safety check before the surprised guests soared through California's stunning locations, from Yosemite National Park to the glowing lights of downtown Los Angeles, and then back for a triumphant finish over Disneyland park.
Warburton remarked, "It's truly remarkable to witness the enduring love people have for Soarin' Over California after all these years"I remember my first trip to Disneyland when I was five, and I've been a huge Disney fan ever since. Being part of a Disney attraction that's endured this long has been truly special for me."
He added, "Surprising guests today was a blast, and seeing how this safety intro has resonated over the past 23 years is fantastic. It was such a thrill to be the Chief Flight Attendant for Soarin’ Over California once again!"
For the rest of the year, the attraction goes by Soarin’ Around the World, showcasing destinations like Switzerland, Italy, Australia, and more. Other Disney parks featuring the ride include Epcot in Florida, Shanghai Disneyland Park (known as Soaring Over the Horizon), and Tokyo Disney Sea (known as Soaring: Fantastic Flight).
