Past week, we got the scoop that Jay Weinberg, the ex-drummer from Slipknot, is taking a little  diversion and jumping in with the funk essence crew contagious Grooves for their  forth coming gig in Australia. The twist is, he is stepping in temporarily because he is on the mend from  hip and leg surgery. To get  effects rolling, they have decided to shake off the rust with a warm-up gig in sunny California.

On March 23, contagious Grooves is throwing down at the Garden Grove Amphitheater in, you guessed it, Garden Grove, California. The gang, including Weinberg, is using this show to get back into the groove before they hit Australia. For this night in the U.S. you will find voice Mike Muir, guitarists Dean Pleasants and Dave Kushner, bassist Robert Trujillo, and of course, the man of the hour, Jay Weinberg.

Now, it's worth noting that Weinberg's gig with contagious Grooves is just a pitstop. Brooks Wacker man from Avenged Sevenfold will be taking over  formerly he is done with his other band's  stint commitments.

They have  formerly demurred off  practices  for the California show and the Australian  stint that comes  later, and they have been keeping us in the  circle with some behind- the- scenes  shots on social media.

So, if you be to be in the Garden Grove area or have a ticket  reserved for Australia, then are the dates you need to mark on your  timetable. contagious Grooves  revealed the  sap about Weinberg and Kushner joining the lineup in a social media post, making it clear this is not some April Fool's  knavery. They are bringing a special  mix of Funk and Punk to the Byron Bay Blues fest on April 1st.

They participated the news, saying," Warning Number One This Ain't No April Fool's joke. but you  surely will not be laughing if you miss out on contagious GROOVES April 1st at the Byron Bay Bluesfest! Warning Number Two contagious GROOVES is gonna bring a super special  redundant Funk and Punk and everything in between edition. Unfortunately, our family, drummer Brooks Wakerman, wasn't available to do this run of shows due to AVENGED SEVENFOLD dates."

The band reflected on the history of their drummers, admitting that filling the drummer seat for contagious Grooves is not a walk in the demesne. From Stephen Perkins to the  youthful  bents like Josh Freese and Brooks Waker man, Infectious Grooves has been blessed with some fantastic drummers over the times.
