Fans of Wynonna Earp can rejoice because our beloved donut-loving, whiskey-drinking gunslinger is making a comeback! Emily Andras, the creator of the fantasy horror show, dropped the exciting news via Vanity Fair on February 8. She revealed that the series is coming back to life for a special 90-minute scripted episode, set to grace our screens on Tubi in late 2024.
The gang's all here, with Melanie Scrofano reprising her role as Wynonna, and Dom Provost-Chalkley returning as her sister Waverly. Tim Rozon and Katherine Barrell are also back in action as Doc Holliday and Nicole Haught. And rumor has it, we might see some other familiar faces popping up too!
The special episode, titled Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, will pick up the story a few years after the events of season 4. According to Andras, Doc and Wynonna have been off on an adventure, while Waverly and Nicole have been holding down the fort in Purgatory. But things are about to get real interesting as they face new challenges and confront their past choices.
For those unfamiliar, Wynonna Earp is like Brooklyn Nine-Nine meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It follows the adventures of Wynonna, the great-great-granddaughter of Wyatt Earp, who has the supernatural duty of sending reincarnated criminals back to hell.
The show originally aired from 2016 to 2021, and fans were devastated when SYFY announced that season 4 would be its last. But thanks to the unwavering support of Earpers, who launched the #SaveWynonna campaign and even took over Times Square, we're getting more of our favorite demon-fighting crew.
So mark your calendars, Earpers! The Earp family saga continues, and we couldn't be more thrilled to see what's in store for our favorite heroes.
